Glyder - Glyder

Glyder are: Tony Cullen - Vocals and Bass Bat Kinane - Guitars and Backing Vocals Pete Fisher - Guitars Davy Ryan - Drums Glyder are a four piece Hard Rock band, bonded by a passion for the classic rock of the 70’s. Glyder bring that massive sound and swagger to the 21st century with a modern edge. Playing together for a number of years, the band where launched onto the scene in 2004 after a one off gig at “The Vibe for Philo” in Dublin. Not long after, Glyder toured Ireland opening for Thin Lizzy and made a great impression with their debut EP which convinced legendary producer Chris Tsangarides (Lizzy, Sabbath, Priest, Ozzy) to record the debut album. The album was released through French label Bad Reputation Records and critically acclaimed all over the UK and Europe. Glyder hit the airwaves in the summer of 2006 with regular airplay on Bruce Dickinson’s (Lead singer with Iron Maiden) BBC6 rock show. The track “PUP” was playlisted on most UK rock shows from XFM and Total Rock to BBC. Tracks have been played on Norwegian, Swedish and UK national radio as well as an exclusive radio session for Irish national radio and regular play on a national tv sation. A 5K Kerrang live review and a 4K album review as well as reviews and coverage in nearly every rock magazine in Europe have firmly established Glyder as the hottest rock band from Ireland. A track on the cover CD of Classic Rock magazine and a full page article have firmly convinced rock fans that Glyder are an international force to be reckoned with. Live performance is where Glyder excel, establishing them as highly a credible live act opening for and touring with artists such as Thin Lizzy, The Answer, Wishbone Ash, WASP, Bob Catley and Thunder. In November Glyder won a text competition to open for UK Rock stalwarts Thunder on three dates of their UK tour in November, a huge achievement for a foreign band considering that only UK mobiles were valid! This led to the band getting the Thunder European tour in March 2007 and securing a major international booking agent. This tour introduced them to new audiences, winning more and more fans with every rocking performance. Glyder make their first major festival appearance in Italy in June opening the "Gods of Metal festival" playing along side Motley Crue, Velvet Revolver and Scorpions. When they are not touring, Glyder put time aside to work on material for the next album, “Playground for Life” , and recently finished writing in the quiet (not so quiet!!) village of Tuchan in the south of France. With the infamous Mark Wilkinson currently working on the cover illustration for the album, due for release in 2007, it promises to be another great year for the Irish Rock revolutionaries, Glyder.
"Smothered in sublime guitar harmonies and delivered with grit and precision...... Rock & Roll songs laden with duelling guitars and wistful street poetry" KKKK KERRANG
